Dr. Mark Holterman is more then your average pediatrician. He is a true student of science. He began his career as a undergraduate student at Yale University in 1976 where, then Mark Holterman, studied and earned a Bachelors of Arts in Biology, graduating with honors in 1980. He finished his graduate work at the University of Virginia where he earned his PH.d and M.D. in immunology and medicine.
Dr Holterman then moved on and did his residency in general surgery at the University of Virginia, and his fellowship in pediatric surgery at Seattle’s Children’s Hospital. As if he couldn’t get enough, Dr. Mark Holterman spent two years on research at the Clinical Institute of Montreal. He also became a professor at the University of Illinois and joined the Advocate Children’s Hospital for two years where he preformed the duties of Chief Surgeon.
Dr Mark Holterman is a man who knows his field and shares what he knows as well as heals those he can. Dr. Mark Holterman focuses on scientific research in autoimmunity and stem cells. He became a professor of pediatrics and surgery as well as a pediatric surgeon at the University of Illinois and is the attending pediatric surgeon at Rush University Medical Center.
